When I started this campaign, I brainstormed with two good friends about how to connect with people, especially in the rural areas. We had hoped to be doing lots of events, and my first one was supposed to be this weekend in the town of McLean.
We also intended to do town halls, engaging people of the 88th with policy topics that affect their daily lives. On April 16th, at 7:30, I will be starting a series of online town halls. The invitation link, via Zoom, calls it a webinar, but really it is a panel discussion with the ability for participants to ask questions. All the town Halls are themed “Why Vote”. The reason for this is that many people do not believe their vote matters, or they only vote in the Presidential election every four years. Our first topic is Education. Who makes the policy decisions that affect our public education systems? We have three panelists: Elizabeth Fox Anvick of Bloomington’s District 87 school board, Paul Resnick of Illinois Central College, and Lea Cline of ISU. Paul and Lea are also running for County Board in Tazewell and McLean.
Please join us to learn why our vote matters for education in Illinois!
You are invited to a Zoom webinar.
